Adrian Fenty is a co-founder of M Ventures, a venture fund focusing on consumer products after serving as Special Advisor for venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz for a number of years. He also serves as a member of Perkin Coie’s Emerging Companies & Venture Capital team. He has more than 11 years of experience in politics and government and served as the fifth mayor of Washington DC from January 2007 to January 2011. During his time in office, Mr. Fenty became a recognized national leader in the areas of urban education reform, public safety, public housing, city revitalization, healthcare and increasing tourism. Since leaving office, Mr. Fenty has provided strategic advice and business development solutions to an array of clients including Rosetta Stone, Everfi, and CapGemini. In addition to media appearances, he has traveled extensively speaking on education reform and using a private sector approach to running a government. In the fall of 2011, Mr. Fenty served as a Distinguished Visiting Professor of Politics at his alma mater, Oberlin College.
Mr. Fenty received his Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College (1992), his Juris Doctor from Howard University Law School (1996) and is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia.
